So. Confused? Well, rightly so as the first page doesn't really explain anything except that Julian is in some sort of medical facility (hospital, research lab???) and has no clue why or how. Oh, and that he has bad dreams, poor kid. But the next page should shed some light onto his situation. Or maybe not.
Anyway, I had to ink this on vellum bristol paper, which was not ideal in any way. Really what I needed was smooth bristol for my nibs to work best, but I had none and the local art store was out in the size I needed. Speaking of which, this page is 11.75" x 16". I really wanted to go larger, but that requires a larger pad of paper, more ink, etc. so I settled for now. One thing that was pretty exciting during the process of inking this was that my dad pulled out his old Rapidograph pen (!) for me. I'd never used a Rapidograph before and it's really appealing to me to use a pen where I can fill and assemble the whole thing myself and use my ink of choice. Certainly beats microns, in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm psyched to continue this project as I work on other things (learning Zbrush, Maya, and some rudimentary C++) and hope to get some more pages up soon!
